Chandigarh
is enveloped by three states- Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and
is located at the foothills of Shivalik ranges of Himalayas. The city

By Rail
Like other major cities of India the city of Chandigarh is also connected with almost all the parts of India. The railway station of Chandigarh is just 8 km away from the city center. There are many trains that pass via Chandigarh. Shatabdi runs to Chandigarh at least twice daily from New Delhi. Jan Shatabdi and Himalayan Queen are the two other trains which connect Chandigarh and Delhi. The city is well connected with Mumbai, Ambala, Lucknow, Chennai, Kerala, Amritsar, Ambala, Ganganagar and Howrah. Paschim Express, Kalka Shatabdi, Jodhpur Express, Kalka Howrah Mail ply to Chandigarh.
By Road
The Inter-state bus terminus of Chandigarh is located in sector-17 of the city. Chandigarh has several daily buses plying to Delhi, Patiala, Ambala, Amritsar, Dehradun, Haridwar, Simla, Kasauli, Kullu-Manali etc. National Highway 21 (Ambala-Kinnaur) and National Highway 22 (Chandigarh-Leh) is the lifeline of the road system around Chandigarh. Several Luxury buses, Volvos and State run buses connect Chandigarh with several cities daily. Sector 43 bus stand is the other place from where buses to other major cities depart and arrive. Private cabs can also be arranged to reach the city beautiful and roam within the city and explore beyond it.
